North Korean leader Kim Jong-un executed his uncle by feeding him to a pack of hungry dogs, according to a report in a newspaper with close connections to China's ruling Communist Party.
Jang Song Thaek was apparently stripped naked, thrown into a cage and devoured by 120 hunting hounds. Kim Jong-un ordered the execution of his uncle in December 2013 for "attemping to overthrow the state".
There has been no official statement from North Korea on the way Jang was put to death.
According to NBC, the Hong Kong-based pro-Beijing newspaper Wen Wei Po reported that Kim and his brother Kim Jong-chol supervised the execution.
The dogs allegedly took one hour to eat Jang and his colleagues.
The act was witnessed by 300 other North Korean officials. The newspaper added that Jang and other aides were "completely eaten up."
