LG’s Smart Thinq top-loading washer earns an advanced degree by adding Internet connectivity and a touch-screen panel, which let users program information, monitor laundry remotely, and connect to a smartphone or tablet to download specialty cycles for dealing with tough stains and other problems. The machine is even smart enough to run self-diagnostics when there’s a problem and send the information out for remote troubleshooting. Users can pair the brushed graphite steel washer with a companion Smart Thinq dryer, either electric or gas.
