Brit Awards 2014 nominations: David Bowie, Bastille and Ellie Goulding up for awards

The nominations for the 2014 Brit Awards (in association with MasterCard) have been announced, with several acts in the running to win more than one each.
Bastille and Disclosure lead the charge, each gaining four nominations. The two British groups will be going up against each other in the same four categories too, including British Group and British Breakthrough Act.

British singer Ellie Goulding is also up for three gongs, while David Bowie has been nominated for two, 30 years since winning his first Brit Award.
The iconic British musician competes for Best Male, while chart-topping stars Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow fail to get a nod.

His 24th studio album - The Next Day - is also nominated for MasterCard British Album of the Year.
