A Pennsylvania woman charged with murdering a man she and her husband met through Craigslist has admitted the killing in a jail interview and says she has killed more than 20 others.
The Daily Item in Sunbury said police are investigating 19-year-old Miranda Barbour's claims of killing at least 22 others from Alaska to North Carolina in what she said was part of her involvement in a satanic cult.
Sunbury police chief Steve Mazzeo said investigators had contacted the FBI and police in several other states. Lawyers for the couple did not immediately return messages for comment.
Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against Barbour and her newly-wed husband Elytte, 22, for the murder of Troy LaFerrara, who they met through the classified advertisements website, in November.
