Glo unveils 'borrow me credit'

Nigeria’s indigenous telecommunication giant, Globacom, has introduced ‘Borrow Me Credit’, a unique product that enables prepaid subscribers to receive airtime on an advance basis when they run out of airtime during emergency calls. Borrow Me Credit also allows customer borrow airtime when vendors are not accessible.
Available to prepaid subscribers, customers are required to send a request to a specified USSD code and the needed airtime of different denominations will be delivered. The denominations available for now are N50, N100, N200, N500 and N1000.

Adeniyi Olukoya, Globacom’s Marketing Co-ordinator, said that is was another way the telecom outfit had chosen to reward its loyal subscribers as well as an evidence of Glo’s commitment to ensuring that its customers are totally unlimited as they pursue their dreams. “Within minutes of requesting for the service, subscribers will receive the airtime requested and get confirmation through a text message. The credited money is taken back from the Glo prepaid subscriber when he recharges his account next time,” he said.

He explained that the airtime will perform function which includes making outgoing calls, sending SMS as well as uploading and downloading data on the internet. “Globacom recognised that, sometimes, there are situations when customers run out of account balance, either late at night or while travelling and they have to look for where to buy recharge cards to top up their accounts. This product will save them from unnecessary stress and make it easy to get airtime for such emergencies”, he said.

He added that: “To receive airtime credit, subscribers only need to dial *321# and follow the instructions.”
